Aeroflex Incorporated Announces $6.3 Million Navy Cass Contract Award

PLAINVIEW, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 1998--Aeroflex Incorporated (NYSE Symbol: ARX), today announced that its Comstron division has received additional awards from Lockheed Martin of approximately $6.3 million to produce synthesizers and other instrument products for the U.S. Navy's Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS). The award, which is in the form of an undefinitized letter contract, provides for advanced funding pending finalization of a purchase order. Shipments on this latest award are expected to be completed within two years.

CASS is a multipurpose family of automated test equipment which is used to support fleet aircraft electronics and was selected by the Defense Department as one of the two automated test system families to be used to satisfy all the Armed Services future automated testing requirements.

Aeroflex Incorporated, through its subsidiaries, utilizes advanced technologies to provide state-of-the-art microelectronic module, interconnect and testing solutions used in communication applications for commercial and defense markets. It also designs and manufactures motion control systems and shock and vibration isolation systems used for commercial, industrial and defense applications.
