Hi,
Re: RUS
That's impressive... how did you get the news release that quick? I thought I had RUS in the email service from CNN.. went to their site to check, and I forgot my password etc. details to update the profile. Do they require a lot of details or what, compared to CNW. Left them an email to get me in, however, have not heard from them as yet. They must be worried over VSE picking CNW as the preferred supplier to all VSE listed news releases.
Have updated my model on RUS and it's amazing how undervalued this stock is at $4.00. If it is not for the risk diversification policy of my portfolio, I would pick some more. I think investors confuse this stock with oil drilling supplier stocks. Its oil drilling supply business is down 9% , but the other two (and more important ones), the service centers and the international steel operations had a 75% increase in operating profits! The CEO's comments are also valid, in that, they grew the business internally, rather than through acquisitions. I'm now wary about companies that acquire other companies to pump up their growth statistics (PHV a case in point). Companies that go on a frequent buying binge invariably suffer from indigestion as their systems, controls, and administration try and catch up. CRW another case in point... a fine company, but too many acquisitions last year that will take some time to sort out before the economies of scale show up. In the case of PHV, there seems more problems than just acquisition indigestion... a dead bird soon, IMHO.
