There are many ways to invest in a stock for profit. Of all of the "buy" & "hold" technique is the surest bet, short of having inside information. Short term holds require a lot of luck as well as due diligence, and of course, an investor can follow the "Pump & dump" routine. But once again this requires a lot of luck.

I short term trade. I have a very small portion of my portfolio that I keep for long term. I agree with you that holding for the long term is generally the "surest bet", and I would reccomend this to anyone who works fulltime and doesn't have the time it takes to research and stay on top of their holdings. For myself I am able to short term trade successfully because I have the time to sit at the computer everyday and carefully keep track of my holdings and do the necessary research. I have been doing this for two years and it has worked quite well for me. I just wish I knew then what I know now - and I still have loads more to learn!

Luck is not the main factor in trading short term successfully. Sticking to a set of rules is. As far as AMHD is concerned I broke just about every one of my rules when I bought this one. One rule is that I never take tips from anyone - I'll research a recommendation, but never take a tip. Don't even ask why but I broke down and took a tip on this one. Another rule I broke is that I never buy BB stocks. I'm not saying you can't make money on these, but I stay away from them - they are risky and hard to find information on alot of them. The last one of my rules that I broke on this stock was to stay with it and not cut my loses in the very beginning. I let this one get away and kept hoping that it would come back - you can't do this when you short term trade.

I appreciate your enthusiasm on this one and I hope you are right. As far as your idea that In my opinion such is the case with Ammonia Hold this could over be an heirloom type stock, the type one keeps for a lifetime and passes on to one 's heirs. - I don't agree. I have portfolios for both my children and I only buy blue chip stocks for them.

I have a small position with AMHD so I am not too concerned and I really don't spend any time with it, but i enjoying hearing your positive input.
