Richie - and not have... it be out of date by the time you get it out of the box! Unfortunately not. Intel is actually accelerating the IA32 architecture spins, driving to 700MHz processors in 2H 99. These are the children of Xeon. The PC and workstation market will not paricipate in IA64 (Merced/McKinley) architecture in a significant way for at least another 5 years. Intel's goal is to have that processor you bought be obsolete about 2 microseconds after your charge gets approved...
