Tero I have no bones that NOKIA is a great GREAT company. However GSM was set up with different properties to make it incompatible with US GSM and TDMA. Europe did this to create a protected market to create phone system. It worked and NOKIA benifited. It is trying to do it again with CDMA. I admit Europe is a backward ass place to do business. Im there 2-3 months a year. This is not a Nokia is better then Qualcom debate, but a hey thats a good company(nokia) and so is that one (qcom), and that ones not (ATT,Erickson,Mot). I openly admit praise for Nokia, but I think Qcom is a fantastic company to. You on the other hand refuse to except Qcom's greatness. Qcom is growing faster then Nokia, It pioneered next wave of technologies, It like Nokia is a dacvid vs many goliaths. However you bash, and bash, and bash. Qualcom and Nokia are the pioneers in CDMA handsets, welcome it as a friendly realation not a threat. There is plenty of customers and our competitors are loosing pace. If you like it or not Qcom isnt going away and nobody is going to circumvent IPR'S. There will be agreements and compromizes and then finally a standard. At that point Q and Nokia will battle it out on the merits of phones and quality. Using a football analogy its only 20 minute into the game, and Q is down a few goals, but the have the more talanted team(technology) and
the best goal scorer(CDMA). They might not win, but the match is far from over |
