Stan,
You write very concisely and knowledgably when you are sober, Stan. I am happy to see that.
Regarding your potpurri of investment facts, no, I did not know a number of these arcana. But again, as I observed previously, these facts reflect the sensibility of a ultrashort trader who lives and dies with each hours move. These facts may be improtant to you, they are not improtant to me. I am not putting down tradrs, only suggesting that our search for knowledge is guided by our core beliefs and trading styles. But thank you for the short course in shorting.
Regarding Kevin Schick and VIAS. Yes I was suprrised, but not that Schick was going to VIAS. I was surprised that a lurker surfaced who is just like me: Gets great information htrough ordinary means and without being an insider. THat is Mark Guest of course, who I msut apologize to for thinking he was The Tangster/Q3/Mad Monk. Don't bother digging out the old Stewart info Stan, although it is a friendly gesture. I mean, Stewart has not only been predicting Schick was more likely to end up at VIAS than MD, he has been privately advising Schick on some matters. It really did not make a difference where Schick ended up, his raison d' etre would be marketing of MD software tools and services.
BTW, MD now has "156 ways to decode your lover", to badly paraphrase Paul SImon. I mean, this is a whole y2k suite onto itself.
All, The British government announced that they will pass a law FORCING all I/S managers to make their system y2k compliant. Leave it to the Brits to make reality conform to its grandiose wishes. I'm frankly surpirsed the Democrats haven't done the same, as I am sure some hand wringing bleeding heart is worried that welfare queens and deadbeat dads won't get cehcks kicked to them on Jaunary 1, 2000. But the ol' Democrats are still trying to pretend to be Republicans, so they will be better off offering tax rebates to anybody who solves their problem by 2000.
I think that this is esepcially good news for VIAS (and by implciation for MD), as VIAS has a strong presence now in Europe wiht the purchase of the German outfit.
