[Editor1: Have you ever wondered how a voice "rings out"?]

[Editor2: Oh, for Pete's sake ... it's just an expression! It didn't really "ring out". Somebody just said something. Now, let the authors get on with the story!]

[Editor1: Well, OK. But, I really have trouble sometimes trying to envision the screenplay of this epic tale. I mean, what would this "ringing out voice" sound like? A telephone? Yeah. That would make sense. A telephone! That's probably it.]

[Editor2: Sigh ... Now, where were we?]

[Editor1: Chuck and Muffy had just burst through the door of some little greasy spoon joint. Then, a familiar voice rang out. Does that mean he/she yelled? What's the context here?]

[Editor2: Oh, good grief! CUT! Everybody take 5! When you come back, figure out who the person is and whether they yelled, whispered, or rang a bell. Sheeesh!]
