"Those who are trumpeting the case for a Uniform Civil Code are doing it more with the intention of diverting the people's attention from the really pressing problems because they have no clue about how to solve the latter" I hope you aren't saying that a UCC is a bad thing.I honestly have a problem seeing the reasoning in this. Just how could it be bad that everyone is treated equally? Maybe you don't like the BJP implementing it because you obviously have a problem with them, but how about if another party was in the process of making it law ? Frankly, I think India is better off with the BJP than the Congress but that's another discussion... As for "achieve all-round progress before you move forward in the realm of civil laws", I think it would be a useful to have a framework in place i.e the UCC and then build around it. Would you agree? Monish
