Jeff, My take is that the big pc boxmakers are placing orders for components to have their Christmas boxes ready by November. Since they always put an optimistic spin on their expectations, it is possible that they have tightened supplies very temporarily. But, I don't think it holds. The Xmas component buying season is usually over by late Sept, early Oct., and all the drive makers have to do is not layoff some of the people they are canning to meet current demand. It is basically seasonal strength compounded by a recent cutback in production by the suppliers. That is a technical reaction and doesn't mean anything for the future of these cos. MB
