Any bad news for Intel is good news for Apple, as far as I'm concerned. In addition, remember that while Merced and "McKinley" will debut as high-end server processors, they also represent the kinds of processors Intel eventually wants to switch *everyone* to. The x86 architecture won't last forever, you know (it's already a kind of walking-dead!) Therefore, delays in development now will cost them years down the road when their "conversion plan" starts to be implemented.
