Oh sheesh. I was off this thread, frolicking along, and then you people have to drag me back in! Dang! Well Mr. Alan W, We were discussing the Brady Bill initially. If you dont have any kind of criminal record, and you are not mentally unstable, and you are willing to wait a week then you can still have your gun. OTOH if you are mentally unstable, and some emotional event just tramatized you, and you just have to have a gun right away so you can go shoot your ex-wife and family (which is something that happened in Antioch CA 2 weeks ago), then MAYBE the Brady Bill diffuse the situation. Thats the point of it. And I can't see any reasonable person objecting to it. You know, I take an allergy medication that should be an over the counter drug but in this country is regulated for no apparent reason. I need to get a prescription (wait) to get that drug. I dont like it, but I do it. And I am sure that people are far less offended by my ability to access Claritin than my ability to access a handgun. Why dont you fanatics start focussing on the FDA?
