Todays WSJ reported on a large recent survey by Gartner of the status of Y2K remediation efforts around the World.The most interesting part I thought was that corporations expect that in 1999 Y2K expenditures will represent 44% of IT budgets up from 30% in 1998. this suggests that Y2K revenue should grow 50% in 1999. The report says 23% of US firms have not begun Y2K work and many do not plan to test remediated code.The report supports the belief their will be significant economic impact due to Y2K problems
