Winstar/Bowne - LanSystems -2: Subject To FTC Approval

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Winstar Communications Inc. (WCII) agreed to buy LanSystems, a data services integrator, from Bowne & Co. (BNE) for $23 million in cash.

In a press release Thursday, Winstar said the deal is subject to certain conditions including Hart-Scott-Rodino approval.

WinStar expects LanSystems to have a revenue run rate of $20 million to $25 million over the next 12 months and to contribute positively to the company's earnings before income, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA.

WinStar, a national local communications company, had 1997 revenues of $79.6 million.
