BELLINGHAM, Wash., Dec 12 (Reuter) - International Absorbents Inc said Thursday it sees margin pressure continuing until mid-1997. The expected addition of lower-cost mnuacturing operations in the Eastern U.S. will reduce raw material and transportation costs, but the current sourcing of high-cost materials in the Northwest is hurting margins, the company said. As International Absorbents phases in new manufacturing operations, gross margins are expected to increase steadily, it said. By mid-1997, margins will improve "substantially" from the present 26 percent rates, it said.
