An added thought - before you install 98 on notebooks (in particular) check the manufacturer's web site. I had no problem with my IBM ThinkPads, as previously posted. Ironically, due to a new on-line stock analysis program I now use that only runs on the NT4 platform, I have just converted my WIN-98 Beta 3 IBM ThinkPad 765D to the NT4 Server platform. The NT4 installation would never have worked without downloading all the IBM patches beforehand and adding them in after loading NT4. These patches provided NT4 compatible video, MPEG, Utilities, m-wave, infrared and other needed drivers. The 98 Beta 3 that I have now replaced with NT4 was installed prior to IBM providing support for 98. In looking for NT4 patches and drivers I discovered that since the release of WIN 98 IBM has all kinds of drivers and patches for it that did not exist during the Microsoft Beta 3 testing program when I first installed it. IBM now tells me I was lucky not to have problems during the period when they did not have support for WIN 98. You might want to look at the Fujitsu web site to see if there are any WIN 98 drivers you should install. It may prevent future problems even though you have solved the initial ones you had to deal with.
