That is interesting - one of the potentially negative side effects of Evista is the apparent INCREASE in hot flashes women encounter when taking the drug. Estrogen reduces hot flashes - it has been posited that there is a connection between the hot flash relief and the neuroprotective properties of estrogen (which if I'm not mistaken, have been known - or were they just suspected?)

Novo Nordisk's levormeloxifene apparently causes no increase in hot flashes, but also appears to increase endometrial thickness.

The race to build a better SERM....
