Where do you see this happening? I don't. In fact, I think the two are moving closer to each others market segment. I foresee some major marketing battles developing between the two companies.

PS: As the PC industry regains it growth, you are going to see greater competition for the likes of Micron, Gateway, IBM and the Japanese manufactures. In fact, I will go as far as saying that Dell's growth may slow considerably. (Please note, I used the word "may".)

CPQ and many other pc manufactures have been beaten down over the last few years. As the industry turns around, they will start to grow. Dell was never beaten down, in fact they were the only growing pc company, thus their high valuation. The other pc companies now have lower valuations, and with growth on the horizon, they represent better investments than Dell. That is, less risk than Dell. JMO.
