I voted for Clinton because I wanted to see an end to the congress/white house gridlock that we saw with the last administration. Also, I wanted some work done on domestic issues, primarily social security and medicare (my personal preference - they should be phased out but just an acknowledgment that there were problems was a huge step in the right direction vs. the Bush admin).
And, I wanted some investigation into the health care crisis. I did not want nationalized health care - I was thinking more along the lines of some laws to get the HMOs in order and keep the drug companies from gauging.

Of these issues, I think Clinton is better than Bush regarding the gridlock - hes a pretty good negotiator and mediator it seems. Also he seems to have played hardball with some of the drug companies and HMOs as well as tobacco. Much of this was congress I know, but Im talking about what happened during Clinton's term as a whole. I am disappointed on the lack of progress in Social Security and Medicare.
