steady growth of the ERP market because vendors are expanding ERP applications to more fully encompass supply-chain management, sales-force automation, customer support, and human resources.

The problem with this article about ERP mkt growth is that they are essentially saying that growth will be coming from the above new verticals, none of which is fully available yet from the ERPs.

The SCM companies are I2 and Manu, Sap has Scope, which is not done and won't be competitive for a while, Psft has Red Pepper (good for them), Baan, JDE and Oracle have nothing that I know of.

Same thing for SFA/CIS - the leaders there are Siebel,Clarify,Vantive. Sap had a weak entry for a while but as I understand is back to the drawing board, PSFT has nothing, Oracle has nothing. Baan does have Aurum which is selling well for them but is an inferior product I hear (from Siebel people fwiw).

So, to take advantage of these areas the ERPs better start moving or get on the acquisition trail.
