Although I consider myself an Austrian, you gotta respect Keynes because he was one of the few economists I am aware of who made beaucoup pounds speculating.

Since I'm rambling, I actually read Keynes "General Theory" in Beijing in 1989 and ended up quite impressed. At that time the English newspapers came once a week, and I was so hard up for reading material that I would've even been willing to read Das Kapital!

Anyway, the guy who lent it to me had somehow kept it and a ton of other English books since 1949. He had an almost mint copy published in 1936, if I recall correctly. I remember offering him $50-$100 for the book, but he said he wouldn't sell it at any price. That !@#$%! Commie! <g>
