IKON Index Findings Underscore Strategic Importance of Office Technology Decisions
VALLEY FORGE, Pa., (July 30, 1998) -
"The IKON Index survey also shows a tremendous vault in use of intranets - up 73 percent from last year's findings. While Forrester Research reports that two-thirds of Fortune 1000 corporations have intranets, 38 percent of companies surveyed for the IKON Index now have one. The most popular use of corporate intranets is internal e-mail communications (71 percent of all companies), followed by company bulletin boards (59 percent)" The IKON Index is a national survey of 1,200 MIS managers at mid-sized businesses (companies with more than 50 employees and $5 million in revenues) The survey was conducted on behalf of IKON Office Solutions by Market Research Institute, a market research firm in Merriam, Kansas.
The IKON Index was created by IKON Office Solutions, a $5 billion provider of office technology products and services, to measure office technology trends among mid-sized businesses in fifteen major metropolitan cities. The Index focuses on the fields of finance, law, government, insurance, education and healthcare.
