I have been following Broadcom for quite a while now. I first read about them a year ago in Red Herring when they were ranked #1 private company.

Everything I read is positive, everything I hear is postive, with the exception being that in October the lock-out period will end. I am
definitely contemplating buying now though. I wonder how negatively the stock will react to the shares being released. I mean, it is already known to everybody and has been discounted in the current price. The lock-out should not, and will not blind side anybody or catch them by surprise. But, still people argue that there will be such heavy selling by insider's that it will severely depress the price.

I want to know others opinion's on this matter. Also, could anybody tell me whether or not Broadcom's chips have been developed as a prioritary technology or as an open standard. I haven't been able to find this out.
