Now, if only Stac would get rid of ReachOut, they would be left with two high growth businesses.

Reachout is a truly great product... Stac just couldn't compete with the names and bases that pcAnywhere and Laplink had established, even with a superior product. I hope it lives on, but it seems clear the company has all but abandoned it.

I'm in as of yesterday at 3 1/2... thats some spread they have on this one, guess there must be some liquidity problem due to low interest.

I'm in because Stac writes great software, and HIFN is a superbly cheap DSL play with a some very good patents like LZH.

At a minimum, the STAC stock has bounced very rigourously off of the sort of lows we saw yesterday, so this investment seemed quite sound. The way I saw it, buying STAC at 3 1/2 was, at a minimum, like a guaranteed overnight load which would yield 15%.

At the maximum? Well, we all know this company hits some great winners on occasion on the software side, and seems to be a burgeouning hardware play as stated in the previous post.

I'm in primarily on bottom feeding principles... but the upside does seem potentially enourmous!
