A major basis of his upgrade was that MUSE US scripts were "starting to turn"..In fact, one day before his upgrade MUSE specification actually declined to the lowest level of the year and currently remain at a base.
Moreover, although the sale of the VVUS sales force was not made public until the next day after the close (7/08/98), note Charle O's amazing "sensory" prediction: "We sense that the company may be on the verge of announcing plans to dramatically reduce costs and even restructure its sales organization."
This "sense" probably made PaineWebber (an investment banker for VVUS) a lot of "cents" over the period of 7/06/98 to 7/10/98. Take a look at VVUS' action and volume wrapped around the PW upgrade.
