ALSC up to 3 11/16 now, getting noticed on briefing .com. Short count=2million. 10:08 ET Alliance Semiconductor (ALSC) 3 1/2 +13/16: Heavy volume this morning and solid move as semiconductors are in play today. 10:33 ET SOX Semiconductor Index The day is definitely dominated by themes rather than specific stocks. Net stocks are one theme, but semiconductors top the list. The SOX semiconductor index is rocketing 12 points today to 275 helped by favorable comments from Lehman. Intel (INTC) +1 1/2 leads the way, but virtually all the 16 stocks in the index are up: Novellus (NVLS) +3 1/8, Applied Materials (AMAT) +2, Micron (MU) +1 and so on.
