Q. Does MSFDC's service "disintermediate" the bank from its
customers?

A. No, and in fact, quite the opposite is true. Our business model allows banks to serve as the main interface with their bill-paying customers, so consumers aren't diverted to a separate site, or multiple sites to pay their bills. CheckFree has offered a direct payment service to consumers for years - that is not at the Financial Institution's web site, but at the CheckFree site. Their direct site also provides pay-anyone capabilities.

They forgot to mention that you can pay all your bills directly through MSMoney.

Q. How many people will staff this new company?

A. There will be approximately 150 employees in the first year-we expect the number to grow to several hundred as transaction volumes build-most of them customer service and sales personnel.

A 150 employees, sounds a little on the slim side.

Q. How will the service be marketed?

The second primary method will be for consumers to access the service directly through the Internet. The objective of offering the direct service is to allow consumers the opportunity to use the service if their bank or financial institution is not yet offering it. It will also build consumer awareness and create an opportunity for billers to send their bills electronically to a large number of Internet users.

Isn't this a little two faced...MSFDC bad mouths CF for allowing consumers to pay bills at the CF website, but then turns around and is going to do the same thing.
