Large OEM Order From Kingmax Meets Customer Demand For Low-Cost, High-Performance Video Conferencing
FREMONT, Calif., (May 8, 1997) -- Sigma Designs, Inc., (Nasdaq:SIGM) today announced a large first order for its new integrated Zoomed Video/PCMCIA interface chip and color digital camera package, enabling Kingmax Technology, Inc. to offer Zoomed Video (ZV)-enabled notebook users low-cost, high performance video conferencing and video capture.
"We partnered with Sigma in developing the Zoomed Video market, and have received a positive OEM reaction to Sigma's video conferencing solution," said David Tang, vice president, sales and marketing for Kingmax Technologies, a major supplier of PCMCIA cards to notebook manufacturers. Kingmax is currently using Sigma's REALmagic ZV chipset in its popular Scenic Wonder line of PCMCIA MPEG-1 digital video playback cards.
