"If Fore supplies switches for Time-Warner, who will supply switches for TCI or Cox?"

Ken,
That's the $64,000 question. Sometimes going through the SEC 10-K and 10-Qs will help. I'm always on the lookout for information like this but don't recall specifically who will be getting the TCI conversion switching business. I need to make time to find out. I don't know much about Cox, but Hiram does. It would be nice to know.

Just FYI, there is a "pure play" in the ATM chip market. It's PMC-Sierra (sym:PMCS) in case you didn't already know. They win as long as all the buildouts are based on ATM switching. PMCS chips go in a lot of the data networking ATM switching products. They have a who's who list of networking equipment customers. But the downside is, they have to slowly lose their analog modem chipset business, and tends to hold sales down. Soon, they won't be in that business anymore and there should be very solid growth.

I like NT/BAY more and more because of their expertise in voice over HFC. NT already had it, and then BAY only added to it. Seems like this would be quite useful to AT&T/TCI and other voice over cable projects.

TCI has optical equipment contracts with Harmonic Lightwaves (sym:HLIT), but Hiram and I were debating about whether, or not, TCI was going to stick with HLIT once AT&T bought them. Stock price of HLIT leads me to believe those contracts may be in trouble? But it's a pure GUESS on my part. Just seems like if TCI was going to stick with HLIT, then HLIT should be selling at higher multiples.
