Only a moron would buy Dell stock at $115 at the same time, and expect it to be at $230 by years end....

1) I'm long in DELL since March 1996.
2) The performance you claim is unattainable has been attained in the past three years, each year.
3) There's a reason that Compaq's stock does not trade at the multiple that DELL trades at. Do you know why that is, or are you just buying beaten-up stocks hoping to score a buck on the quick return?
4) Dell will (does) make more money in 1998 than Compaq.
5) Dell will (does) have better margins in 1998 than Compaq.
6) Dell does not have an inventory problem.
7) Dell doesn't complain about how IDC and Dataquest calculate unit shipments when things don't go their way.
8) Dell doesn't have a distribution channel to stuff to pump their numbers. They're real from quarter to quarter.
9) Dell isn't having to change their business model to stay in business.
10) Compaq isn't changing their business model enough to remain competitive with Dell.
11) Dell's management doesn't lie to shareholders and analysts.

Just my thoughts.

Have a nice weekend.
