Tom,

My opinion about the devaluation of the yuan is changing. Considering everything that has happened in the last couple of weeks, for them to stay tied to the $US (that's effectively what they are trying to do) when all other governments, businesses, and currencies around them collapsing now seems impossible and even unreasonable. They now have too many internal problems and a strong export economy is going to be essential.
