mark, Your country may call you to kill in a war, that is clearly demonstrated in the old testament as something that happened and it was not a violation of the commandment thou shalt not murder. Self defense is also acceptable. Murder is the intentional and unprovoked taking of someone elses life. The taking of the life of the murderer by the state is not murder. Authority has been established by God to deal with this. Society is protected and the execution is a deterrent to others who may think of murdering someone. And it is just because why should the murderer pay less than the one murdered, that would be unjust. Bob
