Bob As you know I am hardly a Bible expert. However I dint understand this statement . <<Authority has been established by God to deal with this.>>How? How does that reconcile with turn the other cheek? What establishes that authority? <<Society is protected and the execution is a deterrent to others who may think of murdering someone.>> There are many studies that have been done that prove that capital punishment is a very poor deterrent. Society would be just as well served by locking that person up until they are no longer a threat. Society would be even better served by rehabilitation. <<t is just because why should the murderer pay less than the one murdered, that is unjust.>> What fits in with Christian principles to a greater degree?
