I'm not sure this idea is any less credible than the original Teledesic concept (with 900+satellites). Check out their website at skystation.com

Their claimed team of contractors reads like a who's who of European aerospace contractors.

Since it's privately funded (so far) and relies on "proprietary technology," it's hard to draw conclusions about their credibility.
