Nice post, pretty much the way I see it also. Not sure I understand LONGonDELL's comment about IBM's multiple - does he think it too high or low?? Don't know how many folks have been tracking IBM from it's lows, but it's pretty close to a 7 bagger since Gerstner came on board. I'm amazed at how 'confident' the Dell board is, it kind of reminds me of a bunch of IBM execs I was listening to back in the early 1980's. They were talking about how IBM would be a 100B corporation in five years, and were building new plants left and right. Confidence was everywhere!!! The other day the Dell thread's cheerleader posted that he thought another 450 points were in store for Dell by 2001!!! That is a market cap getting close to 400 billion... Even the best companies trip up - look at Intel, in addition to CPQ. Maybe I've been around too long and seen too many high fliers tank, time will tell....
