SEC: Investors misled by space exploration company"
By Marcy Gordon, Associated Press, 08/07/98 18:45

WASHINGTON (AP) - "Federal securities regulators are going after a small company that has promoted itself over the Internet and elsewhere as preparing to launch an unmanned spacecraft to a ''near-Earth asteroid'' around 2000."

The article quotes some moderately supportive comments about the scientific side of Spacedev from Carl Pilcher, NASA program director for solar system exploration, though he declined comment on a question about whether Spacedev had an agreement with NASA to use the system.
