Actv may have paid them for the patent rights. They have spent 50 million + through the years. Back in 96 Actv and Earthweb were collaborating on a type of webcasting called hyper tv. These patents imo evolved from that endeavor. Hyper Tv allowed for streaming urls while watching a tv show on the net. You could than click on the URL and simultaneously view the show and web page(s). The project was but on the back burner, put it looks like it evolved into these patents. Art
