From the Wall Street Journal (1st page of Marketplace section)

Surprised to see that no one mentioned this article about Eidos and other powerhouses such as EA - MS - Activision - G.O.D in today's WSJ!? I like to see this since I believe it's not all about EPS or the latest engine for TR3 but also about visibility and credibility.... which elements might be brought to Eidos thanks to a deal with Sony/Psygnosis and by articles such as this one.

The article also interestingly shows a breakdown of how the moneys collected from a game are split: of $25 million in revenue, a Developer gets 1,75 mil, a Retailer 7,5 mil and a Publisher 15,75 mil!!

Pretty sweet for a company such as Eidos which most often is either a Publisher or a Developer and a Publisher at the same time!....

It also talks about how aggressive publishers such as Microsoft, Activision and Eidos are changing the rules and bidding up the prices of star game makers.

"Companies like Microsoft and Eidos are willing to roll the dice on talent because it pays off in the long run" says Ion Storm ....

Good reading,

Thierry
