I found this today in the news feed:
Candela Corp will enter the next stage of the skin resurfacing market with a new advanced laser technology, it was announced
today by Gerard E. Puorro, president and chief executive officer.

As part of its broad penetration of the cosmetic medical field, Candela said it has reached agreement to market internationally
a state-of-the-art Erbium laser system. Known as the "Skinlight," this kinder, gentler laser was developed and is being
manufactured by Fotona d.d., a company based in the Republic of Slovenia. The advanced attributes of Skinlight include
scanning technology and higher average power than any Erbium device now in use -- with minimal thermal damage to the skin.
This results in significantly faster recovery times than devices in the market today, the company said.

Commenting on the multi-million dollar, multi-year agreement, Puorro stated, "This advanced device puts Candela into the
forefront of Erbium laser technology. Skinlight's record of efficacy, gentleness and regulatory clearances overseas is rapidly
making it the skin resurfacing system of choice in Europe and elsewhere in the world. Application for clearance by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration has been filed by Fotona d.d.," Puorro added.

"Meanwhile, we have begun overseas marketing and training activities to serve our large global markets, which include all of
the Far East, South America, South Africa and some European countries," Puorro said. He also noted that the marketing
agreement with Fotona does not include, for example, the United Kingdom, France or Germany.

Candela's new Erbium device is based on solid state laser technology. Before the advent of these advanced devices, most skin
resurfacing was done with CO2 lasers, which are not optimal for this application as is the Erbium.

Candela Corp. develops, manufactures and distributes innovative clinical solutions that enable physicians, surgeons and
personal care practitioners to treat selected cosmetic and medical problems using lasers, cryosurgery and other proven
technologies. In addition, the company is applying its capabilities and experience with skin care and related problems to
develop a network of company-owned skin care centers and spas. Founded near Boston in 1970 as Candela Laser Corp.,
Candela markets and services its products in over 40 countries from offices in the United States, Europe and the Far East. For
more information about Candela, visit the company's Web site at clzr.com

This press release includes certain forward-looking statements. Any such statements are subject to risks that could cause the
actual results to vary materially, including negative developments relating to unforeseen order cancellations or push-outs,
Candela's strategic relationships, the impact of intense competition and changes in the laser industry.
