After looking at medpartners, phycor, medisphere, two hospital systems and going independently,we decided to go with PMCO in Apr 1997.PMCO took four separate practices and folded them into one group under one administrator. We chose PMCO because they offered us the best model to maintain the quality of our practice without all the hassles(personnel management , computer systems, benefit plans, managed care ,etc) of the modern medical practice. In the 20+years I've been in medicine, things have gotten terribly complicated. PMCO has enabled us to establish a diagnostic clinic that does a whopping amount of business(ultrasound, mammography,GXT,holter and blood pressure monitoring, full laboratory service etc)that otherwise would have gone to a hospital. The quality of these services and the management has been excellent. The key to PMCO success is local management coupled with 50-50(md's-PMCO)decision making. To date they have never interfered with our style of practice. The future looks bright, despite all the myopic naysayers. |
