Hope he doesn't mind my repost here.

Excellent release for DGIV. This answers many of the questions I had about DGIV's technology. I was not a fan of their relationship with Voxware, utilizing the RT29 MetaCodec, that did not allow them to interoperate with other gateways. Voxware did not support any of the ITU standards, such as H.323 or G.729. This alliance with NMSS, and to base their gateway upon their Fusion 2.0 board, now gives them a solid product that will allow them to make alliances with other IP telephony networks to offer services in areas that they have not established a presence in. Even more important then the H.323, which is multimedia focused, is the codecs g.729 and g.723.1, for voice. By looking at the other companies who are using the Fusion 2.0 board OR those who will be utilizing the equipment from Lucent, it shows the companies that a peering arrangement/partnership would be a fit. Lucent and NMSS support each others boards, meaning that DGIV has opened a lot of doors that were closed while using Voxware.

Also the mention of termination in LA for their calls means that there are agreements in place that are necessary to being a NextGen telco.

Overall, I think that some of the most important issues for the implementation of the DGIV network have been addressed. This news release answers a lot of the NutsNBolts issues to DGIV being able to accomplish building an international network.

Congratulations to all DGIV longs, this release was a big step!
