Victoria: I like to invest in stocks with strong management, strong products, and strong investor support. DELL is a classic example of one of these stocks. It has developed quite a track record of loyal followers. I'm investing in DELL for the LONG RUN.
Warren Buffet has consistently said "Buy the company, not the stock." If you believe in the product/service, the management of this company and its direction, then go long and stay with it for the long run. If you do not, then go elsewhere. The day to day price fluctuations, even the week to week fluctuations are irrelevant (unless you are margined to a dangerous level). --------------------------------------------------------------- Buy and Hold DELL and you'll sleep well at night. Oh boy, I'm beginning to sound like Kemble! Yet, DELL is a company that I follow carefully and I have a great deal of confidence in this firm.
My grandfather made millions of dollars with the "buy and hold" approach to investing in quality bluechips (like GE and Exxon). I choose to invest in tech stocks but I like the same approach.
Since DELL is my largest investment, I trust the DELL management team to be a good steward of the resources that I have given to them. So far they have performed very well. IMO, they will continue to create significant new shareholder value for years to come.
I'm Long on DELL for the Long Run.
