Dell is eating everybody's lunch because of their unique business model. When CPQ went in-house with DEC and fired the firms who provided service they made Dell a lot of friends. Which company would you recommend to the customers you have been servicing, the outfit that fired you?

Ongoing service creates relationships and savvy beneficial to both parties. Large customers avoid unnecessary changes. Dell's service contractors are a big sales force on it's staff but not on the payroll. Their job is to make Dell look good, and they profit from it.

I trust Michael to solve the problems of the future with the alacrity he has applied to the problems of the past.

CPQ wants to be IBM. Check their charts against Dell.
