Bob,
In the eye of Cyrix technology, GX86 is a disposable chip just like 5x86, CX486DX, CX486SX, 486DLC, 486SLC and the current 6x86. For Cyrix design engineers, it is not a big challenge to come out with a 6GX86. It takes them time only. That's it!
If Cyrix could not, and would not, license the disposable GX86 technology to make REAL tons of money for its shareholders, this company is going nowhere except to be boughtout by others. Of course, things are more complicated than we talk here as excuse. But, then, I could hope for a higher buyout bid of my long term holdings.
I picked up CYRX for a potential HUGE success, not a regular one. Cyrix has the ability to earn over $10 annually with their current and future technology. However, it is still unclear if the new BOARD could take a smarter business practice. Before Jerry stepping down, Cyrix did not announce or mention anything about GX license. I could only wish that the Board would change the things in favor of shareholders.
BTW, the burn-in of my Cyrix 6x86-166Mhz (P265+ 66x4) on ASUS T2P4 has been going very well after I used a monster ball bearing CPU heatsink. Some of benchmark numbers are for fun:
3DBench Rating: 250.0 Norton SI 8.0 : 1,130.9 Cachechk v4.0 : L1 cache - 698.3MB/sec. L2 cache - 310.2MB/sec. RAM (EDO)- 162.0MB/sec.
That's Cyrix technology!
