Even if getting filled means the stock is going the wrong way, if I believe in the trade and am committed to buy, then if I can buy the bid I've beat the spread right off and if I have to stop out, I am that much closer to flat.

The book Electronic Day Trader talks about buying at the bid and selling at the ask and suggests it's a good idea. And I have been wondering for a while when I see prints at the bid who is getting buys there and how? The more I think about it the more curious I get. I know MMs can buy the bid at will. Is that what shows up as prints at the bid?
