Hi Gems follower's. You would have to go way back to see me on this thread but I have had a pretty successful profit in this stock.
I remember its former glory days. Actually I lost money the first time in the Gems gate. Wall Street loved it and I thought it was over valued, so I bought some puts, If I recall the $40's and Wall Street took it up to 50 +, ouch.
I recouped that and more when I got back in @ 10 and sold @ 20.
I haven't been back but saw this BW clip and decided to pay you Guys/Gals a visit.
A couple of things from the past and why I left.
Gems had a ton of cash in the bank but spent it all on those acquisitions. They also announced that they would sell off their Mobil business which Smith told Wall Street was worth $150mil.
As you all know they still haven't found a buyer, so I believe that, they can't give it away (remember that was the $150mil that WS thought was going to be back in Gem's checking account)
Wall Street hates Gems because of its poor communications and lack of guidance and that doesn't appear to gotten any better.Being so linked to China, hasn't helped either.
If this Market wasn't so goosey I might put my toe back in the water, but as another critic of Gems here posted, Gems really should have brought in a new CEO long ago. So now you can ask, what is wrong with their board of directors?
Linda said, " she would like to make some money in her life time."
The last question any man should ask a women!! Linda how old are you?
Good luck.
