PRI's biggest competitor is Daifuku of Japan. Recently Daifuku
purchased AutoSimulations, a software vendor from Utah, specializing
in discrete event simulation. The intent is to better integrate
material handling with scheduling, etc. I have visited National Semi
and Intel in the past week, and both companies are actively configuring
PRI systems for current fabs. Motorola will announce the site of
their 300mm fab in the next few months. The 300mm wafers are to heavy
to carry. This will drive automated systems.
