I don't own this stock, but the text below is part of an email letter I received from some news service. I don't subscribe to it and it is the first email I recall receiving. Thought you might be interested:

One of the advantages of IRI membership is getting the occasional heads-up
on non-material events about enrolled public companies. Tuesday morning,
in a press release distributed to some 300,000 professional traders at their
workstations, the Institute will officially announce that ALYA International
(ALYA), a leading-edge software designer in the field of building
automation, is the latest company to enroll in the unique Public Analysis &
Review (PAR) program, and will be assigned a professional analyst to provide
an initial report and continuous quarterly coverage.

To meet the "scrutiny" requirement to display the "Seal of Best Practices in
Investor Relations" (see below), public company enrollees must demonstrate
third-party coverage. Because such coverage has not been readily
available, the Institute's board authorized the creation of the PAR program
to compensate for the lack of analysts covering small-cap equities. ALYA
is a provisional "Elite" member of the 'Seal" program. Full status will be
accorded upon the successful completion of a third-party analyst report.

ALYA is a leading developer of process control software and hardware
products using Echelon'sr LonWorksr technology, Microsoft'sr Windows NTr,
and Local/Wide area networks communication protocols. The company is
headquartered in Palo Alto, California with research and development carried
out at its wholly owned subsidiary, ALYA Systems Inc., located in Coquitlam
a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1995 with the
objective of developing, manufacturing and marketing using Echelon'sr
LonWorksr technology based process control products to world wide markets,
the company shipped its first product in early 1997. The company was listed
on the NASDAQ stock exchange OTC, in June 1997 under the symbol: ALYA.

ALYA is one of the first companies to develop open (ALYA's OPENTM "Open
Platform for Essential Networks") architecture hardware and software for the
security and control industries. ALYA's first product, O.P.E.N.cortexTM is a
development platform based on these de-facto standards directed to companies
implementing applications for end users such as building management systems
and process control applications. ALYA has utilized this platform in the
design of .O.P.E.N.centrixTM, an application for Security Management Systems.
