LSI gave up on their encoder. VLSI doesn't have one. So what does LU's encoder compete against? Well it appears that it's a system, so it would compete directly with Divicom's encoder. But they also compete with the other Encoder systems using Cube chips. Which Divicom competes against also. What does this mean to Cube? We'll have to wait and see how much market share LU can gain against all the systems using CUBE chips. Cube Encoder chip business appears intact to me.
