IBM may pass Seagate shortly. Disk drives come in many flavors, and IBM plays in all high end. Seagate and EMC together make EMC's drives, whereas IBM does all its in house

Are you talking in terms of revenue or in terms of units shipped? Last I checked, IBM and Seagate were neck and neck in the server-class drive industry (both at 40%). IBM is ahead in the mobile computing industry, but is very weak in the desktop industry. So, since they are essentially tied in the server class, do you think that more mobile units than desktop units are going to be shipped? I would think not. BTW, IBM sells server class drives to EMC as well....
