Defrocked, it is not unusual that economic activity spurts up after natural disasters, we have the same phenomenon in California, every time we get a serious earth quake and in the south after each major hurricane. Such disaster require reinvestment in housing,m infrastructure etc. and actually, like in a forest fire, allows for rejuvenation (replacing old technologies with new ones)
